Project: Consumer brand for a startup
CONTEXT: The “Arome Traditionale” company, which owns the “Flavors of Romania” brand has merged from the unitary family desire and the need they identified firstly among their friends, of us, Romanians to have a product dedicated to the tourists, foreign partners, a nice and sweet memory of Bucharest.
CHALLENGE: The product is an innovation in the souvenirs market, a unique opening on the Travel-Retail segment. The city of Bucharest is an interesting blend of architectural styles, and you can either hate it or love it! The owner of the brand hopes that his sweets will leave a good taste after tourists visit the capital of Romania, and the gift box will generate the wish to re-visit the town! The product is meant for the people passionate for beauty and taste, no matter if they are tourists visiting Romania or Bucharest for the first time, locals in love with the traditional flavors, Romanian expats living abroad and/or their friends and many more. There is no such product in the Travel-Retail industry in Romania and this gift box is the answer to an important need on the souvenirs market: Romanian traditional sweets, tasty and appreciated since historical times and a gift box, that may be kept as a souvenir but also as a beautiful storage box, similar to the dowry chest from grandma’s house.
SOLUTION: We decided to come up with a creative solution to promote both the city of Bucharest and the beloved Romanian sweets that have a tradition of more than decades: A unique combination of visual elements representing Bucharest and a spacious box, in which you will find the most delicious Romanian sweets – real country ambassadors for Romania! We designed two types of packaging boxes for this brand in order to share the beauty of Bucharest and the tastes of the Romanian traditional flavors to as many people as possible, no matter their nationality. At the present time, there are two box versions. One of them has all the main attractions of Bucharest represented on it (Palace of the Parliament, the Romanian Athenaeum, Arch of Triumph, Basarab Bridge and the specific clock of Bucharest). The other one is very similar to an embroidered canvas with Romanian traditional motifs, but with all the main touristic objectives draw on the sides of the box.
